The SOS Café at the Penticton Regional Hospital has made a remarkable donation of $400,000 to the SOS Medical Foundation.
This generous gift is from the total earnings from the Café’s last 5 years profits. The funds will directly support the much-needed upgrade of the Oncology Centre, bringing care and resources to patients and families in the region.
“We are incredibly grateful for the SOS Café’s ongoing dedication to our Foundation and to the community,” said Ian Lindsay, CEO of the SOS Medical Foundation. “Their generosity highlights the incredible impact that local organizations can have on healthcare advancements, and this commitment will truly make a difference in the lives of oncology patients and their families when the clinic opens in June.”
The SOS Café is more than just a café—it’s a vital part of the Foundation’s mission. Operated by just two dedicated staff members and supported by over 40 volunteers each week, the café ensures that 100% of its profits go back to the SOS Medical Foundation.
“We are honoured to provide support to the Foundation with this donation,” says James Bryan, SOS Cafe Manager. “As a community-driven organization, we rely heavily on the dedication of our volunteers to keep the cafe running. There’s an ongoing need for more helping hands, and we’re always eager to welcome new team members.
