At the South Okanagan Similkameen (SOS) Medical Foundation, we are reflecting on a milestone that belongs to everyone in this community.
Thanks to your generosity, we successfully raised $10 million to support the Oncology Centre upgrade at Penticton Regional Hospital, and the new centre is open.
This achievement is about much more than a fundraising goal met. It is about bringing enhanced cancer care closer to home, providing a place where patients can be treated with dignity and comfort, surrounded by family and friends, during some of life’s most difficult moments.
The new Oncology Centre is three times larger than the previous space, allowing more patients to receive care with reduced wait times. It features enclosed treatment and consult rooms for privacy, isolation rooms to protect vulnerable patients, and an environment filled with natural light, all designed to support healing.
The SOS Medical Foundation is deeply grateful to every individual, family, service club, business, and organization that made this possible. Every contribution mattered, and together, we achieved something extraordinary for our region.
We also want to acknowledge the leadership and dedication of the SOS Medical Foundation Board and staff, who worked tirelessly throughout this campaign. And, to our key donors, your generosity helped inspire others and built momentum when it was needed most.
Thanks to you, the $10 million goal was met and the doors to this beautiful new space are now open.
This Oncology Centre stands as a testament to the compassion and strength of this community.
